I don't even know a term "visual novel". Yes, I played only the first scene as I remeber.
The guy was new in school I think he would cross-dress later and girls were teasing with him on the first day of the school. All I can recall is this Visual novel is the type of game you are describing in your first post.
The selecting of those few sentences is what defines the visual novel genre, as it re like a picture book, if only with a few changes depending on your choices. Alas, I cannot help you on this. It still sounds to me like a myriad of possible games, but I'll post this to bump the thread and hopefully get you some better help XP BBCode.
